HERE IT IS! The first same-sex wedding in France
On 29th May, Vincent & Bruno said « I DO ». Eleven days after the same-sex marriage law was passed, France assisted to the first union between two men. Even if the process took hours to be validated, France can now be proud of being the 14th country allowing the union between two homosexuals. And it’s not too much to say that it took HOURS : indeed after several months of demonstrations, protests and debates, the final diplomatic debate lasted 170 hours.
The wedding took place in Montpellier and more than 500 people were invited to the ceremony. As it was the focus of attention, police officers were mobilized in case of trouble. This event has also been highly publicized all around the world (200 journalists), and Vincent and Bruno are actually proud to represent the fight for same-sex equality in France through this first French gay union.
They even mentioned their plans to adopt…
We wish them to live happily ever after !
